Raquel Seimandi was born in Adrogué, Buenos Aires Province, in 1986. Growing up in a large family, being the youngest of ten siblings contributed to her fascination with expression, words, and symbolism. Over time, image, the body, and interpretation gained prominence in her interests. During her childhood, she had her first encounter with art through the Galpón Cultural (Cultural Warehouse), where she actively participated in projects such as writing, theater, and literature. Raquel’s work developed naturally through the fusion of techniques and experimentation, prioritizing artistic expression. For this reason, since 2019, she has rediscovered hand embroidery, discovering that the same gesture enables other languages, including the pictorial and the poetic. She has collaborated on projects, reinterpreting illustrations, songs, and texts by national and international artists “in thread,” which are now part of private collections. Currently, and constantly learning through the exploration of different techniques and disciplines, she creates works from her own imagination, while training as an art curator and social psychologist. Since 2008, Raquel has lived in Trelew, Chubut (Argentine Patagonia), nurturing the curiosity that has accompanied her since birth.

“A firm believer that ART is the form and mechanism through which humanity transcends, in 2019 I decided to remind the creative child I once was that it’s never too late to join the subtle realm. I’ve made sure to connect with the most instinctive teachers, those willing to embrace the world of insecurities that such work entails, and I’ve been fortunate to find many. I try to show, in a simple and aesthetically pleasing way, through my current mastery of techniques—and, why not, their misuse—the inner universe that feeds the vast flow of external connections I experience. Always committed to the evolution of the inner artist.”

Self-taught and committed to the cultural scene.

Raquel Seimandi is a creator deeply connected to her personal and artistic environment.

Her work is a testament to transformation and intimate expression, marked by diverse techniques and emotional exploration. Her participation in spaces like the MMAV and national art fairs such as BADA reflects a growing presence and a highly personal approach to art.
